The first step in creating a mural is a consultation between artist and client. Landau exhibits a high degree of professionalism while providing this time, free of charge, to her prospective clients. Approximate measurements are taken, from which sketches will later be composed at her home studio. Style, subject matter, and process will be discussed, and her portfolio is available for review. Please have any logos and/or specific content prepared for review as well.

The second step in creating a mural is to create several small sketches of possible compositions and color options based on the clients' desires and the artist's research on the chosen theme and/or content. Landau selects the sketches she considers most suitable to the space and works these up into three medium sketches.
At this time, a second consultation is arranged, to review the research and sketches completed by the artist. From this meeting, the development of a final sketch will emerge, consolidating the vision of the artist with feedback from the client.
The final sketch is adapted (if necessary) and approved by the client and work begins. Landau creates a copy of the final sketch onto a grid and measures out a grid onto the wall as well. She transfers the image block by block onto the wall with thin lines of latex paint. Then she blocks in the major areas of color, upon which she will layer other colors to achieve depth and richness. She is a very hard worker and often completes commissions quicker than expected.
This commissioned cityscape mural was created for Hyperspective Studios, Incorporated in Honolulu, Hawaii.
